I’m Abby Foster, a Licensed Independent Social Worker and Certified Master Addiction Counselor dedicated to helping individuals rediscover hope and purpose. My path to becoming a therapist began with my own recovery journey—a journey that not only restored my health but also ignited a passion for inspiring others to thrive. Today, I bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, lived experience, and compassionate care to my work, empowering clients to heal, grow, and create meaningful lives.

I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte and a Master’s in Social Work from the University of South Carolina. My certifications include Peer Support Specialist (CPSS), Master Addiction Counselor (MAC), and Acudetox Specialist through the National Acupuncture Detoxification Association. I am also an EMDRIA-trained EMDR therapist, working toward full certification with the EMDR International Institute, and am in the process of completing Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy training with the Polaris Insight Center. As a Certified She Recovers Coach, I integrate a mind-body-spirit approach to recovery that honors each client’s unique path.

I specialize in working with individuals who feel lost, are struggling with their relationship to substances, or are seeking to improve their overall mental health. My therapeutic approach includes trauma-focused care, EMDR therapy, mindfulness, and strengths-based support to help clients heal from trauma, find peace, and build an empowered life.

My clients often describe me as warm, compassionate, and authentic. I am deeply committed to creating an emotionally safe space where individuals feel supported, empowered, and understood. Whether you are seeking help for trauma, addiction, or life’s challenges, I am here to help you uncover new possibilities and create a life you love.

Getting to know Abby

Life Outside The Clinic

Outside of my clinical work, I find joy in spending time outdoors—hiking, kayaking, and connecting with nature. My 13-year-old son, Blake, is the heart of my world and the inspiration behind my own healing journey. Our Boykin Spaniel, Edgar Allan Poeny, is our loyal adventure companion. As a survivor of the troubled teen industry and someone who has faced substance misuse and trauma, I know firsthand the courage it takes to rebuild a life. My son gave me the strength to begin my recovery, and now I am honored to walk alongside others on their journeys toward health and wholeness.
